      WebHosting is
“A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website ”

      Domain is

“In computing and telecommunication in general, a domain is a sphere of knowledge identified by a name”

      > What is the difference between webhosting and domain?

Web hosting is where you have a computer with disk space, an Internet connection and the software needed to respond to requests for the files the make up webpages.

A domain is a way to describe where that computer can be found in a human friendly way.

You can go directly to some domain registration authorities - but they charge a very high price for individual domains. (e.g. £100 instead of £15). So it is a bad idea.

      > do I need to buy or rent webhosting space

Yes. You clearly don’t have the technical skills to run your own server

      > even if I have a FTP software

This just lets you copy files to your web hosting space (although I’d prefer to use one which supports SFTP, plain FTP is horribly insecure)

      > desgning my website by Microsoft Publisher?

MS Publish is a dreadful program for producing webpages. It produces some of the very worst quality code I’ve encountered - its inflexible and reacts very horrible to real world browsers.
is a better starting point then Publisher.

A domain is just a name.
Webhosting is what gives you space on a web-server.

Add the two together and you have a website under your domain name.

If you don’t rent web-hosting space then you will only have rights to the name - but no actual web space to put anything in.

      I use for my webhosting.

Sure there are rip-offs in all walks of life but you can’t get anywhere without a hosting package. Just get a recommendation.

U can buy web space there are lots of web host service provider ( example yahoo.com) who provide some space to publish there website and charge some fund for that. But yes before investing money online one should get all the information that service provider is genuine or not. Their are lots of fraud website who promise for good service and steal money form people.

Domain is something to do with name. organization need to register to domain name service provider. all website address are in the form of e.g., 225.299.215.254. And it’s very difficult to remember the series of number and type every time we visit particular website. so, for that reason website buy their name like yahoo.com. so it ll be very easy to remember and recall it.

Domain is just a name, by itself it doesn’t do anything. You cannot ‘register it yourself’, it is always done through accredited registrar, so one company or another is always involved.

Web-hosting is a set of services: like disk space, internet bandwidth, possibility to access via web browser, possibility to connect via ftp client and (many) others. This is where you point your domain to.

If you are concerned about fraud I could recomment using value-dns.com ; it has everything you need to start running your website almost instantly, and it never failed me even once.

Don’t trust any cheap service, many of them don’t allow you to have full control on your domain name. If you’re going to buy domain names, is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you ($9.99 /year). They offer free extras with every domain name:

      Quick Blogcast
      Hosting with Web site builder
      Personalized Email Account
Starter Web Page For Sale/ Parked Page
      Domain Forwarding
      Domain Masking
      100-Pack Email Forwarding
      Total DNS Control
      Change of Registration
      Status Alerts
      Domain Locking

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

They are a Multi-awarded Web Hosting which offer a Full-featured service only $6.95. You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:

Here I have copied and pasted its features from their website to view:

      - Free Domain Forever
      - Unlimited Space
      - Unlimited Transfer
      - Host UNLIMITED Domains (Support All Domain Names)
      - 2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts

      - Front Page Extensions
      - Free Site Builder
      - 24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support

They also offer “Free Site Builder” that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get) You can use this service optionally.
